Electrical Motor Control

This module delves into the principles, design, and operation of three phase induction motors, pivotal in modern industry. Beginning with the fundamentals of electromagnetism and AC circuit theory, students will explore the construction and working principles of both squirrel cage and wound rotor induction motors. The course also covers on torque-speed relationship, performance and efficiency of the motor. Students will also do practical sessions of motor starter wiring to complete the course. This practical session mimicked the real applications of three-phase induction motors in various industrial settings.
